By now you are familiar with the countless styles of braids. Fishtails, French braids, milkmaid, crown braids, pigtails the classic three-strand braid and all the different braided hairstyles. But this year’s trend of thin hair scarves and bandanas works perfect with all types of braids.

You’ve probably seen the turban lookwith updo’s, bandanas with tops knot and the boho chic waves with a scarf. But if you’re looking for a vogue new look that still uses the trendy hair scarves, then try these braided looks.

TWISTED MAIDEN BRAIDS WITH SCARF

This style is perfect for a casual day running errands or when you have second-day hair. Simply make 4-sections, twist, and pin up. Then complete the look with a headscarf in front of the braid. Leave your bangs out or pull it all back.

WOVEN MILKMAID BRAID

This look is similar to the one mentioned above, but it incorporates the scarf directly in the braid. This is ideal for women with finer hair and want to make the crown braid but want it to look a little fuller. We love this look with a center part and you simply line the center of your scarf against the nape and drape each end on top of a section of hair and braid.

SIDE BRAID WITH WOVEN SCARF AND HEADBAND

A classic way to wear a headscarf is by creating a headband, sweeping your hair to the side, creating a side braid and using the rest of the scarf as the 4th stand to your braid. Or skip the headband and simply tie the scarf onto a strand of your hair in the back and braid the scarf.

Once you have woven your head scarf into a braid, simply pull it up and pin it to create a chic topknot with a braid and scarf. If you don’t want to weave the scarf then simply tie it around like a turban/bandana and wear it as an accent to your simple braided bun.

SIDE BRAID WITH TURBAN

During the fall and winter months, you might not want to wear silk. Instead, opt for a cotton turban (you can purchase them pre-tied so you don’t have to do that) and throw it on and tie your hair in a loose wide braid. It’s the perfect look with a heavier coat.
